Explore the island

Discover a more authentic side of Nosy Be along its paths and through its villages, with landscapes that reveal an island richer than its beaches. For the more adventurous, there is quad biking or horse riding.

The archipelago by sea

Villa de standing

Explore the islands of the archipelago, swim with turtles, discover protected underwater habitats, go fishing, enjoy lunch on an idyllic beach or walk along a white sandbar.

Depending on the season, the sea brings remarkable encounters with humpback whales, whale sharks and dolphins.

A different side of Nosy Be

Walk from the Residence to a nearby village and meet its residents to learn about everyday life. This half-day experience brings people together, with all proceeds going to the villagers. A local initiative supported by Home Madagascar.

Good to know

Nosy Be offers much more than beaches. Explore the island's villages and landscapes, discover its plantations and scents, head out to the islands of the archipelago, watch marine wildlife or get to know local life. Home The Residence can arrange land and sea excursions during your stay.

Highlights include Nosy Sakatia, where you can swim with turtles; Nosy Iranja, whose two islets are joined at low tide by a long white sandbar; and Nosy Komba and the Nosy Tanikely marine reserve, which can be visited on the same day.

Just opposite Home is Nosy Fanihy, a small sacred and uninhabited island. Less well known than its neighbours, it is also one of our favourite snorkelling spots.

Marine encounters in Nosy Be follow the seasons. Humpback whales are generally present during the southern winter, with July to October an especially favourable period. Whale sharks arrive later and are mainly seen from September to December.

The sea never guarantees a sighting, though. These are wild animals: even in peak season, each trip is different and you may return without seeing them, perhaps encountering dolphins or sea turtles along the way instead. That unpredictability makes a sighting all the more special.

Yes. Our excursion partner is at Home every evening to advise you and arrange your trips. You can also plan excursions when booking your stay or, once here, usually from one day to the next.
